Books

I have written a text, Discrete Wavelet Transformations: An Elementary Approach with Applications, published on January 8, 2008, for an introductory course on discrete wavelets and applications. You can view the table of contents, read an overview, learn about the intended audience, and see who is using the text.

A second book, Wavelet Theory: An Elementary Approach with Applications, co-authored with David Ruch, was published on October 26, 2009. This book is intended for use as a text in a topics course for advanced undergraduate or graduate students, or as a reference for professionals interested in an introduction to the elementary theory of wavelets.

Wavelet Workshops

Sign up for a Wavelets Workshop or Minicourse that is designed to introduce faculty members to wavelets and illustrate how to develop and teach a course on Wavelets and Applications at their home institution. We are tentatively planning another spring workshop in 2010. Check back in early 2010 for more details.

Software

Here you can find links for downloading the DiscreteWaveltes package (in various formats). The packages contain routines for utilizing wavelets in applications, and useful graphics and audio displays. All course labs are also included in this section. In order to make the text as dynamic as possible, the software (in various formats) I used to generate the text examples is provided. The Live Examples allow you to reproduce the results of the examples or you can investigate further by changing example parameters. Suggestions are provided for different things to try.
