Areas:  The program enables U.S. institutions to establish collaborative relationships with international institutions to generate new cutting-edge research and develop a globally engaged U.S. scientific and engineering workforce.  The activity provides educational opportunities for undergraduate students, graduate students, and postdoctoral fellows.

Funds: Grants average about $2.5 million over five years.

Deadline: October 30, 2006 for PRELIMINARY proposals.  February 28, 2007 for full applications.
