University of St. Thomas Center for Applied Mathematics

GEMS CAMP

Written on April 19th, 11:26.28 am

The Department of Mathematics at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota is sponsoring a Math Camp for high school girls this summer, June 25-30, 2006.  We welcome applications from girls who will be sophomores, juniors, or seniors, who would enjoy spending a week on our campus learning new and interesting mathematics and getting to meet women who use mathematics in their careers.

Generous funding from the University of St. Thomas Center for Applied Mathematics allows us to award partial scholarships to sixteen attendees – their costs will include the cost of room and food for the week which is $350.  Participants are also responsible for arranging and paying for travel to and from campus and for paying for dinners on two field trips.

Please visit our website at http://www.stthomas.edu/gemscamp for more information and an application form.  Please note that this is a residential camp, where participants stay overnight in the campus residence halls.

Please feel free to pass this information along to other interested students, parents and your teachers!

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact the directors of the 2006 camp:
