University of St. Thomas Center for Applied Mathematics

General Information

The 2009 CSUMS Student Research Conference will be held at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN August 2-5, 2009. The conference, a first of its kind, is designed to provide an opportunity for students in CSUMS projects around the country to present results of their research, including work in progress. Students will be encouraged at the conference to exchange ideas with one another, and to develop collaborations for future research. Faculty directing CSUMS project are also invited to attend the conference in support of their students and as plenary presenters. It is anticipated that the conference will also provide an opportunity for a general CSUMS PIs meeting, with the expectation that NSF representatives from the CSUMS program will be in attendance. The host project at the University of St. Thomas expects to support lodging and meals for all participants. Travel costs should be supported by each student's home project. In order to be assured of support for lodging and meals, you need to register by June 22.

The University of St. Thomas is on the banks of the Mississippi River less than five miles from downtown Minneapolis or Saint Paul and there are many nearby attractions. Those flying in should arrive at MSP (Minneapolis-Saint Paul), about a 15-minute car ride from St. Thomas. More information about local activities will be available later.

Deadline: To ensure that your talk can be included in the program for the conference, and to be included in consideration for support for lodging and meals please submit a title and abstract by Thursday, June 22 via the Registration link at left.
